CLUB UPDATES FOR 2009-2010 SEASON!!!! PLEASE READ
DUES FOR THE 2009-10 SEASON are $500. We're looking for new members for the upcoming season, so if you know of anyone interested in joining, please pass along my name and number to them, We have ONE rule change for the upcoming season, we're going back to the old rule of Three does AND the 90lb weight rule. Guys, we have 5.5 miles leased and I need everyone to help to police the area and support the rules, using numbered decals we shouldn't have a problem in finding out whose serious about supporting our club and whose not. Thanks Steve
Guys, It's that time of year again, LOTS of changes and all for the good. I'll be spraying and "starting from scratch" on many of them, one rules change, our harvest as been down the last two years, its been recommended and I fully agree, that we go back to a three doe limit with a 90lb weight limit on them. we increased the herd before doing this and its needed again
Locks on the Gates!!!
For all of the members of the club, you all know what a thorn in the side the locks getting stole, cut off, and etc. has become for us. I want to make sure that we are not forgetting to put the locks back up on the gates once we've opened them. Nobody hates having to have the roads cabled off worse than I do and having to fool with locks, but without them we're inviting in poachers and joyriders. The Army Corps of Engineers who owns the land the WMA is on has taken a interest in the joy riders and I understand the fines are appox 500.00 on dirt bikes and some fines over 2000.00 have been paid by the "monster" trucks. I hope this link works, its the TV report concerning this http://www.wsbtv.com/video/17384017/index.html
We've had two down years, being it the drought, the heat, or etc... It was the same for many of the areas that was in the exceptional drought areas in N-NW-NE Ga. There wasn't much that could be done but just to ride it out and see if any good was going to come out of it... For this reason, its been decided we go back to the old three doe limit with the 90lb weight rule. We've built the herd numbers up before doing this and it should work for us again. I'm glad to say that some good has come out of it. Even though the drought hit our area hard, we still managed to keep alot of our Plots in good shape. Of the deer that was taken on the club this year, we showed a strong increase in body weight. The deer are getting bigger from what we use to have. It shows that our plot management program is having an effect on our population. Thank all of you for being patient. In time and after some good rains, things will turn the corner and when it does, our efforts and hard work will show and I'm happy to report we've had a good turkey season..... Thank you all.....
CAMPERS AND STANDS ON THE CLUB!!! PLEASE READ....... I'm happy to report that two arrest have been made and our thiefs have dropped a bunch. Our position on this matter is the following: THE CLUB IS NOT RESPONSIBLE IN ANY FORM OR FASHION WITH PERSONAL BELONGINGS INCLUDING CAMPERS, STANDS, ATVS, OR ETC. If you choose to leave your stand in the woods hanging on a tree, you do this at your own risk. If you choose to park your camper on the club, make sure the camper has all valuable items removed if you are not planning on returning frequently. while I can't promise you no more thief's I do believe the ones doing the most of it in our area have been caught. The sherriffs dept is now patroling the area so please use good judgement on your personal effects........ Thanks. Make sure your decals are displayed, the officers are checking for them.
